Though many trace the beginning of the ongoing conflict in Syria back to the Arab Spring protests of 2011, the seeds of war were sown as early as the late 1940’s. Sarah Abed is an independent journalist and political commentator, covering a broad range of issues relating to the Syrian war, Kurdish issues in Iraq and Syria, as well as U.S policy in the Middle East. She appears frequently in international media and speaks at universities. See more of her work at her personal blog: The Rabbit Hole.
